Urgent. The date is Saturday 9 July 2011 and then again on Sunday 10 July 2011 so, yes, that is this coming weekend.
I know it’s short notice but it looks like a great day out and not one to be missed. The Crash Box and Classic Car Club of Devon will be displaying an enormous range of classic and nostalgic vehicles from our motoring history at lovely Powderham Castle, just outside Exeter and near to the Exe estuary.
It looks well worth a visit if you can make the venue and if anyone takes photos then please leave a link below for us all to enjoy. While there, of course, a visit to the Castle can be combined with the event to make a pleasurable and enjoyable day out.
For more information on the Historic Vehicle Gathering visit the website here.
And also here for the Castle itself.
An excellent day out for anyone interested in the country or in transport awaits the visitor to Beaulieu, the home of the National Motor Museum.
Before you start wondering, yes, it does have some 60s cars but it’s called Elvaston Castle Steam Rally and takes place at lovely Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire on the 2 and 3 of July 2011 so this a definite day for the diary.
Another steam railway day out and this time for our friends in the lovely North of England in County Durham at the Weardale Railway.
Running 10.5 miles from my favourite town, Sheringham on the North Norfolk coast, the ‘Poppy Line’ is a major Spring and Summer attraction that you just can’t afford to miss.
After the success of last year, make a note in your diary, Saturday and Sunday 30th and 31st July 2011 there is a 60s themed event at the lovely Llangollen Railway in Clywd LL20 8SN.
Cars in the Park is a car event held at lovely Beacon Park, Lichfield, Staffs on Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd of July 2011.
This is advance notice for a day out that features a veritable feast of classic cars and is not to be missed.
