However, in preparation for some comments that I might want to do later, I am looking at a soap that appeared in late July 1965 called ’199 Park Lane’.

Coronation Street (Corrie) is everyone’s favourite TV program and, having begun in 1960 and still current today, is one of the longest running and best loved of British soaps.
Back in the 60s, when I was a humble lawyer just starting out on my career, I used to watch most episodes of “The Street” as it was called then. These days I am not so keen but it still has a big TV audience most of whom, of course, would never have heard of Ena Sharples, Minnie Caldwell and Matha Longhurst.
