Where would the 1960s be without Batman and his sidekick Robin? There can be few heros to whom we owe so much yet the upright and pure-thinking TV Batman has a little-known darker and much less pleasant side.
The Batman character was created by artist Bob Kane while the stories, written by Bill Finger, were penned in a comic book published by DC Comics on the brink of the Second World War in 1939. The world at that time was very different to the cosy world of the 1960s TV series and the traits of the character reflect this.
The Mini is, without doubt, the classic car of the 1960s and a single post could hardly do it justice so this post deals with the Mini as it was introduced and as an icon of the 60s.
